POEM AND PHOTO BY ED NORTHEN
The night summons fears
of the unknown
minds enveloped by darkness
imaginations teaming
with visions of terror
initiated by traumas
fixating on the dead
singularly from the mortal aspect
of decomposing flesh.
A juxtaposed view
Is the parallel hope
of resurrection
ruminate on a small seed
or the dull brown bulbs
which must first die
 initiating a metamorphose
 into tulips, daffodils
and Iris
bodily death necessary
for reformation
the mortal unable
to accommodate
the elements
of ethereal realms
