Samantha Pringle captured the women’s overall win at the snow King Qualifier Jan. 9-11. And three other members of the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation’s Alpine U14 Intermountain Division team also had outstanding performances.

The three -day event held at Snow King in Jackson Hole, Wyo., opened with a slalom race on Friday. SVSEF athletes dominated the women’s field with Savannah Pringle earning the win, followed closely by Mia Huey in second place. Brianna Smiley just missed the podium finish fourth.

Alex Grant led the team in the men’s slalom with an 11th place finish.

In a remarkable race, Pringle and Huey tied to share the top step of the women’s podium for the second slalom race on Saturday. Grant moved up in the second slalom race, finishing sixth.

Huey and Pringle finished second and third respectively in the women’s giant slalom on Sunday. And Grant took third in the men’s giant slalom.

“Conditions were on point and it was a great race!” said Second Year Alpine U14 IMD Head Coach Angelica Birkner. “Our performance from our athletes was outstanding. This was an important qualifier, and the team showed confidence, focus, and determination from start to finish.”
