It’s no secret that Sun Valley-area residents are eying the upcoming summer nervously, thanks to dry conditions exacerbated by low snowpack and warmer than average temperatures.
It doesn’t help that the wildfire insurance landscape in the Western United States is going through a fundamental shift with changes in who can get insurance and what it covers.
With that in mind, the Sawtooth Valley Wildland Fire Collaborative, which rose to the occasion during Stanley’s 2024 Wapiti Fire, is presenting “Fire Insurance Explained” Wednesday night at The Community Library in Ketchum.
The presentation, which starts at 5:30 p.m., will feature State Farm Insurance agent Patrick Buchanan, Sun Valley Fire Marshal Reid Black and Chris Corwin, Disaster and Emergency Services coordinator for Blaine County.
