Quick! What valley nonprofit started 35 years ago? What organization helps students purchase school football uniforms?

The answers would be The Advocates and Blaine County Education Foundation.

And, wait! There’s more! Sawtooth Brewery is hosting an Idaho Gives-themed Nonprofit Trivia Night Wednesday, May 6, at its Hailey Taproom at 110 N. River St. in Hailey.

Attendees can meet representatives of participating organizations from 6 to 7 p.m., and the trivia contest will follow at 7 p.m. Prizes will be donated by Sawtooth Brewery, the Valley Chamber with its Chamber Bucks and many of the attending nonprofits.

Participation organizations include The Advocates, Blaine County Charitable Fund, Blaine County Education Foundation, The Crisis Hotline, Far + Wise, Hailey Ice, Men’s Second Chance Living, Project Big Wood, Senior Connection, Shoshone Project, Sun Valley Realtors Give, Wood River Land Trust and Wood River Rep, previously known as The Liberty Theatre Company.

The event comes in the middle of Idaho Gives, a statewide program of the Idaho Community Foundation asking Idaho residents to give to local nonprofits of their choice between May 4 and 7.

Idahoans have contributed more than $33 million through Idaho Gives since its launch in 2013. in 2025 alone, donors set a record with $5.1 million raised. This year’s goal is an ambitious $6 million, with more than 700 nonprofits participating statewide, including nearly 50 organizations based in Blaine County.

“The nonprofit sector does so much to make Blaine County a great place to live, work, and play. Idaho Gives is a four-day opportunity for our community to show how much we appreciate the hard work nonprofits do year-round,” said Evin Bask, Senior Philanthropic Director, Idaho Community Foundation.

Mary Fauth said Idaho Gives has offered Blaine County nonprofits the opportunity to shine a light on the work happening across the region and the generosity that makes it possible.

“This felt like the right moment to bring people back together—to reconnect, celebrate, and maybe spark a little friendly competition,” she added. “I suspect more than a few nonprofits will be fielding trivia teams and showing off their community knowledge.”
