NPR’s Ximena Bustillo will lead a conversation about immigrants Tuesday at The Community Library in Ketchum.
The program will start at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 16.
Bustillo will lead a conversation that will touch on the history of immigration in the Gem State—a history that includes Chinese miners, Basque sheepherders and Latin American farmworkers. And she will examine the place of immigrants in modern Idaho.
Joining her will be Rick Naerebout, Chief Executive Officer of Idaho Dairymen’s Association, which represents 350 Idaho dairy farms, and Chandra Upreti, director of U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants in Twin Falls.
The program is presented in partnership with Boise State Public Radio as part of NPR’s special series “America in Pursuit.”
Bustillo, a graduate of Boise State University, started out in journalism at The Idaho Statesman. She has covered the full gamut of American politics for NPR, including coverage of President Trump’s criminal trial in New York City.
