Women’s Role in Scripture and Society will be the topic of an interfaith discussion to be held Thursday, July 23, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church.

The Rev. Kathleen Bean, associate rector of St. Thomas, and Rabbi Dana Henry, the rabbi educator at the Wood River Jewish Community, will explore the role of women as catalysts for change—from scripture to the shaping of today’s society.

They’ve titled it “The Thread that Runs Through: Women as Agents of Transformation in Scripture and Society.”

They will examine women whose courage, wisdom and leadership have woven a common thread through Christian and Jewish heritage and continue to inspire transformation.

The lecture will run from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday, July 23, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church on Sun Valley Road. A reception will follow and childcare will be provided.

The event is an effort by the two congregations to foster interfaith understanding and dialog in the Wood River Valley.
