Three years ago, Wood River Valley’s native artist Ralph Harris embarked on a large mural depicting the history of the Sun Valley area from the time Shoshone-Bannock tribal members fished from the banks of the Big Wood River to its emergence as a world-class ski resort.

He hung the 8-by-30-foot mural, commissioned by Silver Creek rancher Robert Gardner, on the south-facing wall of Zions Bank in Ketchum this fall. Karen Bossick sat down with Harris to learn about his family history, his art work and the mural in today’s Eye on Sun Valley.
