STORY AND PHOTO BY KAREN BOSSICK

Contra dancing will return to the Hailey Grange on Saturday.

David Quinley will lead dancers through easy dances from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, May 17, as a fiddler, banjo player and guitarist play Irish and old-time music. Basic instructions will be offered at 6:30 p.m. for beginners who want to get an early start.

Dancers are asked to wear indoor shoes that won’t leave marks on the floor. It doesn’t matter whether you have a partner as contra dances involve line dancing and other moves that accommodate all comers.

The Grange Hall is on 3rd Avenue in Hailey a couple doors down from The Senior Connection and across from the Ellsworth Inn.

Admission is $15 for a single adult or $25 for two. It costs $5 for teens. Cash, check or Paypal is accepted.
