Wanted: A King Arthur, several Knights of the Round Table, peasants and penitent monks—oh, and a Lady of the Lake—to take part in St. Thomas Playhouse’s upcoming production of Monty Python’s “Spamalot! Young@Part.”

St. Thomas Playhouse is offering a new tuition-free two-week intensive for advanced middle and high school actors, singer and dancers that will culminate in the staging of the musical comedy.

Did we say that this two-week intensive is tuition-free?

The intensive will be held July 12 through 26, with the musical being staged in the Sun Valley Community School Theater.

Auditions will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 25, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church. Video submissions should be emailed to Sara Gorby at sgorby@stthomassv.org by Monday, May 26.

The 60-minute musical is lovingly ripped from the classic film comedy “Monty Python and the Holy Grail.” It retells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table with a bevy of beautiful show girls, cows, killer rabbits and French people.

It features unforgettable songs, including “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life,” absurd humor and zany characters.

The 2005 Broadway production won three Tony Awards, including Best Musical. It recently had a Broadway revival.

Justin Packard will direct the show with John Mauldin providing musical directions; Megan Mahoney and Sara Gorby, choreography,; Annabel Webster, costume design, and Tyler Salvoni, technical direction.
