Blues guitarist and songwriter Albert Cummings will perform on behalf of NAMI Wood River Valley (National Alliance on Mental Illness) this coming month.
Cummings, who has toured with B.B. king and Johnny Winter, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11. Proceeds support NAMI.
Cummings bridges the gap between classic and modern blues. His last release “Strong” climbed to No. 1 on the Billboard Blues Chart. He is renowned for his blistering guitar work and soulful vocals.
Local organizers spearheaded the event to bring high energy live music to the Wood River Valley while backing a critical community cause. The proceeds will go to preventative mental health care, post crisis care and advocacy.
“Every mental health care issue deserves a compassionate response,” said Donna McGourty, Executive Director of NAMI Wood River Valley. “When the community supports fundraiser events like this, it helps NAMI Wood River support our neighbors across the valley.”
