Got books to share?

The Friends of the Hailey Public Library are taking donations for its upcoming book drive today at Hailey Town Center West.

Gently used books may be dropped off from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today through Wednesday, Oct. 23.

“Torn, water and mold damaged books, encyclopedias, magazines, and textbooks unfortunately cannot be accepted,” said Geegee Lowe, Vice-President and long-time chair of the Book and Bake Sale.  “They cannot be reused or recycled economically by our small non-profit.  We also ask that people do not drop books off at the Hailey Public Library or leave books outside of scheduled Book Drive days or hours as our storage and all-volunteer resources are limited.  We very much appreciate donors being tolerant of our limitations and accommodating these requests.  This event would not be possible without the community’s generosity.”

The Book Sale will kick off on Wednesday, Oct. 23, with a Friends Only Sale from 4 to 6 p.m.

The Book Sale for the community will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Oct. 24-25. A Bake Sale full of yummy cookies and brownies will be held at this time, as well.

The event will conclude on Saturday, Oct. 26, with a Bag Sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fill up your bag with books for $10.

Proceeds from the event will support the Hailey Public Library’s programs, services and collections. The Used Book and Bake Sale is one of the Friends’ most popular fundraisers and has the added benefits of promoting community literacy and supporting environmental efforts through recycling, reuse and repurposing of books.
