Sun Valley Ski Education Nordic ski team alum Mali Noyes recently smashed the record for skiing every line in Utah's Chuting Gallery.
The Chuting Gallery is a book that was published by Park City skier Andrew McLean in 1998 of 93 of the steepest ski lines in the Wasatch, according to Izzy Lidsky in Powder. McLean never really intended anyone to try and ski every single line in it, according to his website. It took him about five years to ski every line prior to writing the book.
Since, several people have skied every line, including one skier who did it in 13 years.
Noyes officially skied all 93 lines in the Chuting Gallery in 47 days, significantly faster than any skier to date, wrote Lidsky.
Before Noyes’ latest feat, she skied the WURL (Wasatch Ultimate Ridge Linkup), usually a route intended to be completed on foot in the summer. Noyes is also an accomplished ultra-runner having won medals at races like the Speedgoat 50k. She also raced in the UTMB Mont Blanc.
Noyes began her quest to tackle the Chuting Gallery on March 12, 2025, just hours after clocking out of her nursing shift at the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City. She finished her quest on April 26.
Noyes wrote on Instagram: “Skiing the Chuting Gallery as fast as I can. This last push has been tough—I’m tired and with the snow melting each line is proving harder than expected. But I have the best friends and support helping me through.”
