BY KAREN BOSSICK

Learn how the practice of restoring streams has evolved Wednesday when Trout Unlimited’s Warren Colyer visits The Community Library.

Colyer, the National Restoration Director at Trout Unlimited, will discuss how stream restoration over the years has run the gamut from volunteers rolling rocks into streams to professional staff developing, designing and implementing water-shed-scale projects.

He will look at passive restoration projects that change land use and low-intensity hand-tool projects that encourage beaver activity, as well as massive construction projects that rebuild valley bottoms.

Colyer, who lives in Missoula, Mont., has worked to restore fisheries and rivers throughout the West.

To see his free presentation in person, reserve your seat at https://thecommunitylibrary.libcal.com/event/14416024. Those wishing to watch the livestream must also register to receive the Vimeo link via email. The program also will be recorded and available to watch later on the Library’s Event Archive page.
