STORY AND PHOTO BY KAREN BOSSICK

Put your stomping boots on and prepare to pay tribute to the women who have shaped American music Friday at The Argyros in Ketchum.

Women of Americana will celebrate iconic songs from such legends as Dolly Parton, Emmy Lou Harris, Alison Krauss, Joan Baez, Bonnie Raitt and the Carter Family, including “Both Sides Now,” “Angel from Montgomery,” “This Land is Your Land” and Will the Circle Be Unbroken?”

And projections during the multi-media event will help enhance the storytelling.

The multi-media performance begins at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 3, at The Argyros. Tickets range from $28 to $78, available at https://ci.ovationtix.com/35937/production/1258060?performanceId=11724134.

Singer-songwriters Brennen Leigh and Cristina Vane are behind the performance, which was designed to tie into the Semiquincentennial, or 250th anniversary, of the founding of the United States.

It will play The Argyros just as Women’s History Month winds down.

Audience members will hear the gamut from early folk and gospel to Western swing and rockin’ pop.

Cristina Vane is a songwriter, singer, slide guitar and clawhammer banjo player whose half-American, half-Guatemalan heritage is as unique as her sound. She has toured with the likes of Molly Tuttle, Wynonna Judd, Sam Bush and Nikki Lane.

Brennen Leigh is an American songwriter, guitar player, mandolin player and singer whose storytelling style has elevated her to cult icon status in Europe, South America and the United States. Her songs have been recorded by such artists as Lee Ann Womack and Rodney Crowell.
