The Sun Valley Culinary Institute will hold an Open House on Tuesday as it begins accepting applications for its One-Year Professional Program starting in September.

The Open House will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, at the SVCI in the historic Lewis & Lemon brick building at 211 Main Street in Ketchum.

There will be complimentary appetizers and refreshments. And the Institute’s Executive Director Karl Johan Uri and SVCI Education Director Jorge de la Torre will be on hand to answer questions about the program, coursework, tuition, financial aid and professional externships available in the Wood River Valley.

The program is designed for anyone interested in pursuing a career in culinary arts. Students learn knife, deboning and other skills during two 10-week blocks at the Institute. Then they have the opportunity to work alongside award-winning visiting chefs at special events and dinners in the valley.

In addition, they can showcase their skills at pop-up restaurant nights and work at restaurants in the valley during the busy ski and summer seasons.

“There are many opportunities available from earning a one-year certificate at SVCI, and we look forward to meeting you and your family,” said Uri.

Can’t make this one? The Sun Valley Culinary Institute will have a second presentation discussing the program from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, at Wise Guy’s Pizza in Hailey.
