A 40-member Caritas Chorale will sing such Christmas favorites as “A La Nanita Nana” during two free concerts Saturday and Sunday.
The chorale will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church on Sun Valley Road. It will perform its Holiday Concert at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 14, at the church.
The chorale, under the direction of R.L. Rowsey and Joel Bejot, will perform “A Lovely Lady Sat and Sang,” a Swedish folksong arranged by June Nixon. They also will perform “Leaf from Leaf Christ Knows,” by Judith Weir; “Glow” by Eric Whitzcre; “A Prayer for Peace” by Kurt Knecht; “Gebet in der Christnacht” by Fanny Hensel and “Nunc Dimittis.”
The formal concert will be followed by a sing-along of traditional carols in which the audience is invited to join in.
While free, donations are appreciated to help the chorale to continue to put on free concerts. Attendees are asked to bring a non-perishable food to fight food insecurity in the Wood River Valley.
