Come as Pioneer Man outside the Pioneer Saloon. Or, perhaps, explorer Alexander Ross. Or, simply, wear your favorite retro ski wear in honor of Sun Valley’s ski pioneers.
The Sun Valley Film Festival and Visit Sun Valley are partnering to hold a free pioneer-themed street party on Friday, April 1, in conjunction with the 20th annual Sun Valley Film Festival.
The party will run from 7 to 10 p.m. on Main Street between Sun Valley Road and Second Street.
Partygoers are invited to don pioneer-themed costumes in honor of the Pioneer Award being handed out to Hollywood trailblazer Danny Strong, who co-wrote “The Hunger Games,” at the Film Festival that evening.
There’ll be a costume contest with prizes from 9 to 9:30 p.m.; giveaways of bicycles, SUPs and “Stay Sunny” gear, and a live DJ.
The film festival street party made its debut in 2018 to honor of legendary ski filmmaker Warren Miller, who got his start filming skiers in Sun Valley. This will be the third.
