Hankering for a taste of Italy’s famous sculptures?
Make your way to Tuscany on Tenth.
The annual event, a fundraiser for Boulder Mountain Clayworks, will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 20, at the studio at 471 E. Tenth St. in Ketchum.
Attendees will be served wine and other drinks in complimentary wine cups made by studio potters that they can take home. They’ll get to nibble on wood-fired pizza served up by Ketchum Grill and Enoteca, finishing it off with Toni’s ice cream.
And they’ll have a chance to bid on more than 30 silent and live auction items, including a garden table made by Mary Ann Chubb & Maureen Jenner and a pasta dinner fir eight complete with pasta bowls made by Lauren Street and Kellee Haven, that will be auctioned off by the father-son team of Larry and Jackson Flynn.
Also on the table: A Sun VAlley ski pass.
This year’s Tuscany on Tenth is being dedicated to the memory of Boulder Mountain Clayworks’ founder Susan Ward, who passed away earlier this year of pulmonary fibrosis.
“It will be a celebration of life for her,” said Board President Maureen Jenner.
Boulder Mountain Clayworks offers adults and children alike an opportunity to study under world renown artists. It also collaborates with various organizations. Every summer, for instance, its studio artists teach the art to campers at Camp Rainbow Gold for children with cancer.
And come winter the studio invites individuals and members of other organizations into its studios to create bowls to be used in the Hunger Coalition’s annual soup fundraiser.
Mary Ann Chubb and Ernie Kendler will offer a raku firing demonstration in a giant barrel outside in the parking lot during the evening. Rachel Stevens and other studio potters will provide throwing demonstrations. And even attendees can fire a pot to take home.
Tickets are $55, available at the studio.
