Did you know you can have minor functional brain imbalances that can affect your performance and moods, even increasing the likelihood of a concussion?
Learn more when Dr. Maria Maricich presents a free talk on achieving high performance at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at the Ketchum Innovation Center.
A functional imbalance means that an area of the brain is not functioning as well as it should. The brain has many working parts that must work together like a symphony. If one part is a little slower, it can throw off reaction time and other things, making you more susceptible to falls and injury.
This can lead to concussion roulette among those who have had concussions, with a person suffering a second concussion. Imbalances can also affect learning, retention and memory.
Imbalances can be caused by concussion or head trauma, toxins, poor nutrition, a learning disability, whiplash, hormone imbalance, medications and stress. Children’s brains are more vulnerable
Maricich will discuss ways you can tell how well your brain is working and offer a program you can do at home to restore balance.
