Community School is inviting all fourth-through seventh-graders in the Wood River Valley to take part in a free Innovation Day on Saturday, Nov. 11.
The event will be held from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the school at 100 Dollar Road, just down the street from the Sun Valley Pavilion.
Youngsters will be offered the chance to participate in two sessions beginning at 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. The choices include designing an instrument using a Makey Makey invention kit, sculpting and building a sushi platter with clay, making a pinewood derby car and making a motor while learning about electric cars.
The event is designed to encourage kids to participate in STEAM-focused activities revolving around creativity and innovation, said Christy Giles. It will be held in Hagenbuch Hall for the Creative Arts and Middle School.
Those who wish to participate can register in advance at communityschool.org/admissions/admission-events.
For information, contact Katie Robins, the school’s director of admissions, at 208-622-3960, extension 117, or at krobins@communityschool.org.
