What lessons does the 2017 flood along the Big Wood River have for us?
Find out during two free discussions Wednesday and Thursday, Jan. 3-4.
Fisheries scientists Russ Thurow and Dan Dauwalter are teaming up with geomorphologist John Buffington, who studies how the earth’s surface is formed and changed by rivers and other factors, to talk about historic alterations to the Big Wood River aquatic habitat and trout fishery and the 2017 flood.
The discussions, sponsored by the Hemingway Chapter of Trout Unlimited, will start at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Ketchum’s Community Library and at 5 p.m. Thursday at Whiskey Jacques.
