A unique evening of interactive pop art experiences and pop-art-inspired cocktails and craft beers will take place on Saturday.
That’s when the Sun Valley Center for the Arts will be transformed into a one-night retro apres-ski celebration of the Pop Art movement.
The Sun Valley Center for the Arts’ Junior Patrons Circle’s Apres After Hours: Pop Art Edition will be held from 8 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20. Tickets are $28, available at www.sunvalleycenter.org or at 208-726-9491.
The first JPC After Hours event of 2018 will offer attendees a chance to embrace their own pop-art persona in a vintage photo booth complete with shag rug, groovy costumes and era-appropriate props.
Dancer Ali Maricich will imbue the night with artful movement, while Molly Snee and other artists will create vibrant pieces in live time. And attendees are welcome to pick up their own paintbrush to join in the fun.
The Haven will cater après appetizers and the Warfield Distillery & Brewery will concoct themed cocktails.
The goal of the event is to raise awareness about The Center’s Junior Patrons Circle (JPC) program, said Jessica Cruz. The Circle is a group of young adults dedicated to furthering the mission and goals of the Sun Valley Center for the Arts, while involving the next generation in The Center’s programs and developing future volunteer leaders for the arts.
“Between interactive art experiences, creative cocktails and good music, JPC After Hours: Apres-Pop edition is set to be an unforgettable night,” said Callan Miranda, special events fundraising manager at The Center.
