Learn about how snow and ice have shaped the landscape of central Idaho during a free guided snowshoe hike on Saturday, March 31.
Josh Johnson, a staff member of Idaho Conservation League, will lead the two-mile trek on 8,500-foot Galena Summit.
Johnson has a master’s degree in geology and several years experience as a naturalist and interpretive guide.
Participants should bring snow boots and snowshoes, which can be rented at outdoor stores such as The Elephant’s Perch. The trek will start at Galena Summit at 1 p.m. and is expected to be over by 3 p.m. Carpooling can be arranged.
Though free, the hike is limited to 10 participants. Call 208-726-7485 or email Johnson at jjohnson@idahoconservation.org to reserve a spot.
