Personal trainer Brenda Powell will recount her journey as a pilgrim on The Camino de Santiago at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, at Ketchum’s Community Library.
Powell made a solo trip on The Way of St. James, which is considered one of the most sacred journeys of the soul in the world.
Pilgrims have traveled Spain’s famous route since the Middle Ages. The route finishes at the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela where the remains of the apostle James are believed to be buried.
More than 200,000 pilgrims walked along The Way in 2014 alone. The most popular of the routes begins in France. It follows a mostly flat route for about 500 miles with pilgrims staying in hostels or refugios.
