Celebrate Earth Day with two days full of kid-friendly hands-on activities, courtesy of the Environmental Resource Center.
The ERC and Sun Valley Center for the Arts will kick it off with a Pollinator Pop Up from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 20.
The ERC will have a variety of hands-on projects teaching participants how to achieve healthy pollinator populations at its office at 471 Washington Ave. in Ketchum.
Roadbars mobile drink bar will provide four signature cocktails made with pollinator-dependent ingredients, such as Bee’s Knees made with ginger, lemon juice and honey syrup. Part of the proceeds from that and other drinks utilizing such ingredients as bourbon, apple fennel shrub and rosemary syrup, will go to the ERC and the Sun Valley Center for the Arts.
Just down the street, the Sun Valley Center for the Arts will show off its newest BIG Idea project,”Bees.”
Come Saturday, The ERC will have fun educational kid-friendly activities at the Sun Valley’s Konditorei Bakery & Café from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The bakery , recently designated as a 3-Star Certified Green Restaurant, will offer plant-based food specials and build-your own Bloody Marys & Mimosas. And Konditorei employees will hand out complimentary bags of its used coffee ground “Grounds for Gardens,” while the ERC hands out complimentary seed packets.
