Learn ways to built downtown vitality and community character around sports and athletic events at Sun Valley Economic Development’s Economic Summit on Tuesday, Oct. 30.
The event, titled “Harnessing the Power of Community to Build a Vibrant Economy,” kicks off with coffee and networking at 8 a.m. It includes a continental breakfast, coffee breaks and buffet lunch.
Roger Brooks, a much-quoted expert in the travel industry will discuss “Community-Built Downtown Vitality.” Ralf Garrison, researcher and founder of DestiMetrics, will teach The State of the Resort Community” and “The Entitled & Non-Entitled Class.”
Jake Moe, a former Sun Valley ski patroller who went on to found “Powder Magazine,” will discuss “How to Attract Talent to Your Community in a Hyper-Competitive Market.” Rebecca Rusch, a seven-time World Mountain Bike Champion, who attracts a thousand-plus mountain bikers to Ketchum each year for her gravel grinder race, will discuss “How to Build Community Character Around Sport 7 Athletic Events.”
Mark Oliver, filmmaker and proprietor of the Hot Water Inn, will discuss “Opportunities and Challenges for the Young Business Community.” And Derrick Calderon, director of Smart Cities in Cox’s Cox2M business, will discuss “Smart City Concepts: How Community Can Shape Sustainable Growth.”
