Start off the New Year by checking out our local birdie friends.
Local birding expert Poo Wright-Pulliam will introduce bird watchers to the local endothermic vertebrates during a program titled “Discovering Winter Birds of Ketchum.”
Pulliam will kick it off with a one-hour slide show at 10:30 a.m. at Ketchum’s Community Library. Then participants will take to the streets to see the birds up close and person via binoculars, telescopes and their own two eyeballs.
The free program, designed for both novice and expert birders, is presented by the Environmental Resource Center. Participants can participate in one or both parts of the program.
It is expected to end about 1:30 p.m.
A second winter birding walk will be held from 10 am. To 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at Silver Creek Preserve.
And yet another Birds in our Backyard presentation and walk will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. March 2, at the Hailey Public Library.
