The Flourish Foundation will hold its annual luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, at the Limelight Hotel in Ketchum.
It will be an interactive luncheon highlighting the foundation’s mission, programming and aspirations. It will also celebrate the return of the Foundation’s Compassionate Leaders from India and Morocco.
The Flourish Foundation teaches adults and youth to cultivate healthy habits of the mind through meditation, discussion of ethics and values and other tools that promote personal well-being, benevolent social action and environmental stewardship.
The program is now serving Teton County, Idaho, and Teton County, Wyo., in addition to Blaine County.
“What Flourish does is give people the key to unlock their inner world,” said Emilie Crist, a board member and Mindful Awareness facilitator. “We investigate the meaning of compassion, empathy, inner strength and resilience. We teach kids and adults how to relax, and we show people how to watch their thoughts, without getting tugged around by them.”
