The Sun Valley Center for the Arts is taking a look back and a look at the present tonight as it prepares for its next exhibition and the future beyond that.
The Center will offer its last free exhibition tour for its current exhibition “Mirage: Energy, Water and Creativity in the Great Basin” at 5:30 tonight—Thursday, August 15.
Photographer Laura McPhee will discuss her project “Desert Chronicle,” which features photographs taken in the Great Basin.
But Center staff members are also inviting the public in from 4 to 7 p.m. to review a treasure trove of photographs from the 1970s and 1980s.
The Center is preparing to celebrate its 50th anniversary and staff members need the community’s help to identify people, places and activities, including ceramics, photography, dance and weaving, in the photos.
“We’ve uncovered some great history and many hilarious photos, and now we’d appreciate the community’s help in sharing their memories and helping us identify some of the people and events of the past,” said Kristin Poole, the Center’s artistic director.
