Turkey Trot Offers Excuse to Get Off the Couch
Don’t let the threat of a little snow keep you from joining in on the fun.

It’s time to trot.

Gobble up the miles in the 16th annual Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning.

The Chamber is sponsoring its 5K Walk, Run or Stroll at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 28. The course will wind through the Wood River Land Trust’s Draper Preserve in Hailey.

“We’ve learned that the No. 1 reason people visit a place is because of friends or family. So we want to put on an awesome event that gives those friends and family who come here something to remember,” said Chamber Director Mike McKenna.

Last year’s Turkey Trot brought out 22

Tutus and turkey leg hats add to the merriment. So do four-legged companions.

The Turkey Trot costs $20 per adult, $10 for youth 10 and under and $50 per family for those who register by the end of Tuesday, Nov. 26. Register on Wednesday or Race Day and it’s $30 per individual, $15 for youth and $70 for family.
