Snow aside, growing season is just around the corner. And the Blaine County Food Council is hosting a Farmer-Buyer Meet & Greet on Monday.
The event will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, at the Ketchum Innovation Center, 180 6th Street in Ketchum. A welcome address will be held at 3 p.m. and a post-event happy hour with beer and appetizers will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
The free networking event is designed to connect chefs, buyers and food service managers with local growers and producers. It is designed for grocery stores, restaurants, schools and other institutions.
It’s a great chance for farmers and ranchers just getting started to learn about individual buyer requirements, seasonal needs and consumer demands, said Stacy Whitman, co-director of the Blaine County Food Council and Local Food Alliance.
Space is limited—RSVP at www.blainecountyfoodcouncil.org/events.
The event is sponsored by the Ketchum/Sun Valley Rotary Club. For more information, contact Stacy Whitman at stacy@sunvalleyinstitute.org.
