The Dog Deck window will come in handy this summer as Galena Lodge reopens for the summer season.
Those who are not comfortable going inside the lodge to order meals may do so at that window. And groups that are okay with ordering inside are asked to sit outside, if possible, and send one person inside to order.
While there is limited indoor seating, outdoor seating is where it’s at this summer and guests will be are encouraged to spread out a blanket on the grass for a picnic if outdoor tables are occupied.
These are among the changes Galena Lodge is implementing as it opens on Saturday, June 13.
The lodge will have new hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day. Lunch will be from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Sunday Brunch from 9 a.m. to 3:30p.m.
Guests are asked to wear a mask indoors and stay six feet apart. They will be asked to wash or sanitize their hands before entering the lodge after using the bathroom, after touching their faces, busing their tables or touching high traffic areas.
No more than three customers will be allowed in the bike shop at a time. Self-service coffee, soup or water is nixed; condiments will be offered only upon request. And the buffet BBQ dinners will be plated.
Now, for the fun part: There will be bike rentals and yurt rentals with enhanced cleaning protocols.
The lodge will host 10 weeks of kid’s camp and three weeks of mountain bike camps. There will be mountain bike clinics for adults beginning June 17, as well as Don Bars, margaritas and four beers on tap. And horseback riding will still be offered.
TRAIL WORK
The Wood River Bicycle Coalition has cut out logs on the Osberg Ridgeline Trail, Alden Gulch Trail, Barr Trail, Castle Rock Trail and Placer Creek Trail.
The Ketchum Ranger District Trail Crew has also built rock walls and elevated sections of the Deer Creek Trail that ran through seeps and boggy areas.
