A new COVID-19 vaccination information web page has been launched to help Idahoans find information on when and where to get vaccinated.
To access it go to https://healthandwelfare.idaho.gov/covid-19-vaccination
The web page offers information about who is eligible to receive the vaccine and where to access enrolled COVID-19 vaccine providers in each area.
Vaccination opens Feb. 1 for adults 65 years of age and older, although it appears that providers in the Wood River Valley are restricting vaccines to those 75 and older during the first week. Some providers may make exceptions for those between the ages of 65 and 74 who have health conditions that make them at higher risk of serious illness from COVID.
It’s expected it will take 10 weeks to vaccinate the quarter million Idahoans who are 65 and older since Idaho is currently receiving only 24,000 doses of vaccine a week.
Saint Alphonsus in Boise had to cancel COVID vaccine appointments this week at its Nampa hospital and outpatient clinics due to a shortage of vaccine. Vaccines will still be administered at the Boise hospital.
The web page tells you what to expect at your vaccination appointment.
To date, 98,682 Idahoans have received at least one dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines; 21,709 people have received both doses.
In Blaine County 2,173 residents, including members of the Sun Valley Ski Patrol and The Senior Connection’s Meals on Wheel drivers, have received the vaccine; 199 have received both.
