Grab your top hat and don your fishnet stockings, ostrich feather boa and other lounge attire as the Sawtooth Botanical Garden gets ready for All That Jazz.
The public garden south of Ketchum is throwing its annual summer gala fundraising event on Wednesday, Aug. 22.
And the evening will take on a jazz theme with live jazz and dancing to the Sally Tibbs & Kevin Kirk Jazz Ensemble from Boise, an All That Jazz performance by the Footlight Dancers, champagne wine and cocktails and a lovely meal served up by the Wood River Sustainability Center.
“I was looking around for what hasn’t been done yet and this seemed like the perfect theme—a intimate evening with All That Jazz,” said Susan Flynt, who is co-chairing the event with Chiyo Parten. “It’ll be a lounge act like back in the day.”
The evening will be held from 5 to 10 p.m. at the garden four miles south of Ketchum at Highway 75 and Gimlet Road.
Silent and live auction items include a Sun Valley Challenger ski pass and a week’s vacation in Bali.
Tickets are $150 per person, available at 208-726-9358. Diamond Packages are $250 per person and include VIP parking, prestige Cuvee and other gifts, VIP check-in and check-out and home delivery of auction wins.
The garden was built to educate Sun Valley-area residents about the five biomes of central Idaho from lava rock to the alpine.
It also educates kids and adults about a wide range of subjects, ranging from bugs to the stars. And it has become an attractive venue for weddings, music events and other activities.
