STORY AND PHOTOS BY KAREN BOSSICK Christmas in Sun Valley isn’t complete until you’ve captured memories of Sun Valley’s Christmas Eve Ice Show to tuck away in your scrapbook. This year’s Christmas-themed show will feature Natalia Zaitseva and Brent Bommentre—two of the professional skaters who dazzle during Sun Valley’s summer Ice Shows, along with tiny tots from the Sun Valley Figure Skating Club who are sure to steal your heart as they teeter, then totter, on blades just 0.04 inch wide. The show starts at 5:30 p.m. tonight—Christmas Eve—with caroling by the Sun Valley Carolers. Come earlier for complimentary cookies, cider and cocoa.

Santa will put in an appearance and the show will be capped by a torchlight parade down Bald Mountain featuring red jacketed instructors in Sun Valley’s Ski & Ride School. They’ll still be schussing down the mountain as fireworks explode from Dollar Mountain. Both the torchlight parade and fireworks will be visible from parts of Sun Valley Village and the Horseman’s Center parking lot. Dress warm, as nighttime temperatures are finally dropping into single digits after weeks of unseasonably warm temperatures. No blankets may be placed on bleachers before 3 p.m. Other holiday happenings:
