Gen. David Petraeus will headline the Sun Valley Policy Forum’s Summer Institute June 29-July 1, along with historian Andrew Roberts and commentator Scott Jennings.
The former Commander of coalition forces in Iraq and Afghanistan will be joined by Kim Kagan, founder of the Institute for the Study of War, for a discussion on the geopolitical forces reshaping the world and the future of American leadership on the global stage.
The Sun Valley Policy Forum’s 2026 Summer Institute, “America 250: Celebrating Liberty,” will take place June 29-July 1 at The Argyros in Ketchum.

Petraeus, who also is the former director of the CIA, will be joined by Lord Andrew Roberts, a Winston Churchill and Napoleon biographer who will offer a British perspective on America’s Fight for Independence.
Conservative commentator Scott Jennings, author of “Common Sense Comeback: Restoring Liberty and the Fight for Western civilization,” will examine the cultural and political debates defining modern America.
They are part of a Summer Institute featuring 18 voices addressing geopolitics, history, artificial intelligence, energy, education, constitutional government and the future of American Society.
The Summer Institute will include exclusive receptions, private dinners and curated experiences for Season Passholders and All-Access participants. SVPF will also host a Future of Free Student Summit on July for students from middle school through college.
