100 Men Who Care gave out $16,950 to three nonprofits in the wood River Valley at their quarterly meeting in April.

They gave:

  • $6,850 to The Advocates’ Skills for Success Program, which is run by Susan Fierman and teaches women how to create compelling resumes, how to dress for success, how to manage money and other skills designed to boost their employment success.
  • $,5,100 to The Hunger Coalition, which recently moved into the new Bloom Community Food Center in Bellevue where the organization plans to augment its food distribution with cooking classes and other programs.
  • $5,000 to Men’s Second Chance Living, which provides a transitional residential counseling and skills-building program for men graduation from drug rehabilitation and other programs.

100 Men Who Care has given $49,050 to address immediate and ongoing needs of the community since the pandemic started, said co-founder Marty Lyon.

It has given $284,225 to nonprofits in the valley since its inception several years ago.

The next meeting will be in-person at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 13 at the Sawtooth Botanical Garden. A brief meeting determining where to allocate each person’s $100 gift will be followed by a social hour.
