Idaho Community Foundation Gives Funds to Blaine County Non-Profits
Tuesday, November 15, 2022

The Idaho Community Foundation has awarded more than $40,000 to seven Blaine County organization that deal with domestic violence, education and seniors.

The recipients are:

  • Advocates for Survivors of Domestic Violence--$8,000
  • Blaine County Charitable Fund, which provides emergency assistance for families--$10,000
  • Blaine County School District Education Foundation, which provides funding for such things as students’ school lunches and football uniforms--$5,000
  • Blaine County Seniors’ Council--$4,000
  • The Alliance of Idaho, which works with immigrants--$10,000
  • The Space Idaho, which provides afterschool tutoring--$2,806
  • Idaho Mediation Association--$1,000

The Forever Idaho South Central grants are flexible and can be used for the recipients’ greatest needs.

“Time passes between when someone applies for a Forever Idaho grant and when they receive it. Their needs may change during that time,” said Lisa Bearg, ICF’s senior philanthropic advisor. “We want our grants to be as responsive as we can make them.”

Flexible funding is essential for an organization like Blaine County Charitable Fund, which helps Blaine County families with unexpected needs such as rental assistance and home heating costs, said Mary Fauth, the organization’s executive director.

“Not all situations are cookie cutter,” she added. “We try to address each household’s crisis in a unique way that will potentially have the greatest impact.”
