Mountain Humane is waiving its adoption fees through Dec. 23 to empty the shelter and ensure that every homeless pet finds a home for the holidays.
More than 50 pets are available for adoption, and the shelter is expecting more kittens, said Heidi Hayes, Mountain Humane’s marketing manager. Bissell Pet Foundation’s Holiday Hope Event has underwritten all adoptions through Dec. 11.
To help boost adoptions, Mountain Humane is expanding its walk-in visitor and adoption hours to 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. Expanded hours will end Dec. 23, and then Mountain Humane will take a holiday break, closing to the public from Christmas Eve to Jan. 5.
