Learn to knit and purl a warm scarf or a blanket for a cat or dog at the Hailey Public Library this week.
Patricia Link, owner of sun Valley Needle Arts, will offer a free class from 5:30 to 7 p.m. the third Tuesday of each month starting Jan. 17 in the library.
Participants need to provide their own yarn and needles and pre-register at Kristin.fletcher@haileypubliclibrary.org.
“We had such a great time offering a knitting class back in October that we asked Patricia to come back and teach a monthly series,” said organizer Kristin Fletcher, the library’s programs and engagement manager, “She believes that knitting is a skill that stays with you your whole life and is calming and gratifying, much like yoga and meditation.”
Lirk first leaned to knit 30 years ago and has been hooked ever since. She opened her Ketchum store in 2010 and shares her talents teaching classes for Girl Scout troops and others.
