STORY AND PHOTO BY KAREN BOSSICK
Learn to write your memoir in a free four-part memoir writing workshop at the Hailey Public library.
The workshop will be taught by Tony Tekaroniake Evans from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays starting Jan. 17. To hold your spot, RSVP to Kristin.fletcher@haileypubliclibrary.org.
The workshop will look at how to plan an autobiographical writing, as well as themes, characters, locations and tone of voice. Attendees will be asked to complete weekly writing assignments and share their works-in-progress in a supportive, creative atmosphere.
“Each person lives a remarkable and unique life full of stories just waiting to be told,” said Kristin Fletcher, the library’s education and engagement manager. “This workshop will help participants learn where to start and how to turn their experiences into a powerful story.”
Evans has conducted several writing workshops in the Wood River Valley since 2004. He works locally as a book editor and collaborator, and he has written “Teaching Native Pride,” “Memory and Destiny: The Life of Glenn Janss” and “A History of Indians in the Sun Valley Area.”
