Got blood?

The blood drive honors Steve Adam, a longtime volunteer with Higher Ground.

Caton can put people on a waiting list if all the appointments are full. Last year there were more than 10 cancellations in the 48 hours leading up to the blood drive so the standby list was critical in filling appointments.
Why the Blood Drive?
• The Red Cross of Idaho needs to collect about 250 units of blood every week day to meet demand.
• Idaho Red Cross provides blood products to more than 30 hospitals and medical centers across Idaho.
• Every year the Idaho Red Cross collects more than 70,000 units of lifesaving blood at more than 2,200 blood drives. Since a single donation can save more than one life, that's more than 70,000 lives impacted each year. A community blood drive that collects 30 units of blood, for example, could impact 30 Idaho families.
• Every 2 seconds someone in this country needs lifesaving blood. That includes cancer patients, premature babies, accident victims and countless others.
