It may not be an election year, but that’s not keeping Blaine County Democrats from their annual Clint & Michelle Stennett Social.

The event will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, May 5, at The Agyros in Ketchum. And auction items will include the late Dick Fosbury's prize Adidas jacket, donated by Fosbury's widow Robin Tomasi. Fosbury revolutionzed the high jumping world with his Fosbury Flop.

The Democrats will celebrate with Cinco de Mayo-themed hors d’oeuvres. Special guest @socialistlyawkward from TikTok will keynote the evening with witty remarks on this year’s legislative session and offer a pep talk spurring people on to volunteer in future elections.

Lindsay, the guest speaker, works as an NICU nurse in Boise where she lives with her husband and three children. A Boise State Magna Cum Laude graduate, she uses scathing critiques, wit and humor on social media platforms to raise awareness about political issues in Idaho. Her content has garnered the attention of national news, as well.

Also on hand will be Democrat representatives, including Lindsay Mollineaux, the ERC director and Wood River Valley native who was recently appointed as the new Blaine County Commissioner by Gov. Brad Little. Mollineaux replaces the late Dick Fosbury, who recently passed away in the middle of his term

Tickets for the Stennett Social are $50 for general admission, $35 for those 35 and younger and $15 for students, available at https://blainecountydemocrats.org/

In addition, the 4th Annual Blaine County Democrats Online Auction is open to anyone interested in bidding on an array of items, including a vacation at an ocean front villa in Akumal, Mexico; golfing for two in Sun Valley, an opportunity for four to enjoy a Barbecue Buffet at Galena Lodge and more.

Karen Bliss said Robin Tomasi talked about Dick's longtime friendship with Adi Dassler of Adidas and the creation of Dick's shoes that he wore when winning a gold medal at the 1968 Olympics in high jump when she donated the jacket.

"Long story short, we came up with the idea to finish her story on Dick and Adi when she speaks at the Clint and Michelle Stennett social," she added.

Bidding at https://blainecountydemocrats.org/ ends at 9 p.m. Friday, May 5.
