See the story that started it all when The Argyros celebrates “Star Wars” Day with a free showing of “Star Wars: A New Hope.”
The Argyros will show the groundbreaking movie at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 4. And there will be a costume contest, so get your light sabers ready.
“May the 4th be with you!” quipped Margaret Hamamoto, marketing director for The Argyros. “Actually, there are several Argyros staff who are “Star Wars” fanatics, so we decided we wanted to celebrate May the 4th Be With You this year. It’s also nice to extend a free admission performance and offer the opportunity to screen a family classic for the community.”
Mark Hamill stars as Luke Skywalker, a young lad who begins a journey that will change the galaxy in this movie. It’s 19 years after the formation of the Empire, and he’s been thrust into the struggle of the Rebel Alliance when he meets Obi-Wan Kenobi, who has been living in seclusion on a desert planet.
Obi-Wan begins Luke’s Jedi training as the two embark on a daring mission with a Wookiee, two droids and a cocky pilot played by Harrison Ford to rescue the beautiful Rebel leader Princess Leia played by Carrie Fisher from the clutches of Darth Vader and the evil Empire.
