The second annual Wood River Valley Daffodil comes with a bonus—the official unveiling of four new sculptures in the Sawtooth Botanical Garden.

The sculptures—all very different from one another—will be unveiled during the festival, which takes place from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday, May 13.

The garden will greet spring on that day with some 30,000 yellow daffodil bulbs that were planted by volunteers in the fall of 2021.

Admission is $25 and includes brunch fare provided by the Tater Trailer, a mimosa bar that will include non-alcoholic beverages, live music by Hart Gibson and the unveiling of fine art that was donated to the garden in the fall of 2022.

There also will be guided tours of the Garden of Infinite Compassion from noon to 2 p.m.

Registration is required due to limited space. Tickets may be purchased at www.sbgarden.org/events/daffodil-festival or by calling 208-726-9358. Seniors and youth under 12 will be admitted for free.

Proceeds from the Daffodil Festival will benefit The Senior Connection and the Sawtooth Botanical Garden, which is the only public garden in the region and seeks to educate visitors on plants unique to this area’s mountain, lava and other ecosystems.

“The Senior Connection is thrilled to be partnering with the Sawtooth Botanical Garden to host the annual Daffodil Festival and bring some spring joy to the Wood River Valley!” said Jovita Pina, executive director of The Senior Connection.

“The weather forecast even looks great!” said Jen Smith, executive director of the Sawtooth Botanical Garden.

The garden is located at Highway 75 and Gimlet Road, four miles south of Ketchum. Those who can’t make it to Saturday’s events can enjoy the daffodil display between dawn and dusk seven days a week following Saturday’s event.
