Excitement is running high for the Papoose Club’s Webb Plant Extravaganza Saturday at Webb Garden locations.
Papoose Club members will be out in force to assist with the plant sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Webb Nursery locations at 162 Glendale Road in Bellevue and 891 Washington Avenue in Ketchum.
Webb employees are donating 20 percent of the day’s sales to the Papoose Club.
The Papoose Club raises money to help fund youth endeavors through the plant sale, Wagon Days Pancake Breakfast and the Papoose Club Holiday Bazaar.
During 2022 it awarded 22 grants, serving 4,906 children in Blaine County through cultural, social, educational and athletic activities. So far this year club members have awarded 12 grants serving nearly 5,000 youngsters.
Club members recently honored Kaz Thea, Hailey City council member, as their 2023 Member of the Year. She joined in 2009 and has served as the chair of the annual holiday Bazaar at Hemingway School for the past few years. She is a lifetime member of the club.
The club is headed up by President John Carreiro with Vice Presidents Kimberly Tenold and Maureen Dahlen, Treasurer Rich Puddicomb, Publicity Manager Krista Gehrke and Secretary Luci Novakova.
Want to join? The next meeting will be held Monday, June 19, at the Harker Center, 1 Harker Lane (off Morningstar Loop) in Elkhorn. Socializing starts at 6:30 p.m. followed by a meeting at 7 p.m.
