Oscar-nominated Director Marc Forster will host a post-screening dialogue following a special preview of his movie “White Bird” on Saturday, June 17.
The Sun Valley Film Festival will show the highly anticipated film at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, June 17, at the Sun Valley Opera House. It’s part of its new Monthly Movies series.
The film is based on the book by the best-selling author of “Wonder,” an inspiring story of a boy with facial differences. It stars Helen Mirren and Gillian Anderson.
It also features Bryce Gheisar reprising his role as Julian from “Wonder.” In this film Julian visits with his Parisian grandmother who tells him how she was hid from the Nazis as a child by a classmate and his parents in Nazi-occupied France during World War II.
The feature film is scheduled to be released in late August.
Director Marc Forster’s long list of acclaimed movies include “A Man Called Otto,” “Finding Neverland,” World War Z,” “The Kite Runner,” “Christopher Robin” and “Monster’s Ball.”
He will take part in a discussion and Q&A alongside Executive Producer Renee Wolfe following the screening. Wolfe worked with Forster on “Christopher Robin” and “A Man Called Otto.”
"We're ecstatic to showcase this SVFFirst Look of 'White Bird' to our audience," said Teddy Grennan, executive director of the Sun Valley Film Festival. "Involving renowned talents such as Marc Forster and Renee Wolfe in our post-screening discussion deepens the cinematic experience, offering a rare glimpse into the enriching, immersive journey of storytelling. This event goes beyond just screening a film; it's about exploring the profound art of storytelling that touches and transforms us."
