Jazz in the Park will feature two new bands this summer—one from Portland and another from Boise.
Jazz lovers can look forward to Boise’s Frim Fram Four, which has expanded from four to seven players, to present a special Louie Armstrong and Louie Prima show. And Tony Galla, a great singer from Los Angeles who recently moved to Boise, will be back as well.
That’s the word from Jazz in the Park organizer Will Caldwell.
The free laidback concert series kicks off Sunday, June 18, and runs through July 23. Concerts run from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rotary Park across from the Wood River YMCA in Ketchum. Picnics are welcome; just pull up your lawn chair and blanket.
The lineup:
June 18—Nicole Christensen Band from Riggins (THIS HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO THE THREAT OF RAIN)
June 25—Van Paepeghen Band from Boise
July 2—Frim Fram Four (Now Seven?) from Boise
July 9—Bossa Nova Jazz Ensemble from Ketchum
July 16—Tony Gala Band from Boise
July 23—Bridge City Jazz Ensemble from Portland
