Pioneers called it “a mass of black vomit,” giving parts of its names like “the Devil’s Orchard.” And scientists say it’s overdue to produce more volcanic activity.
Let Ted Stout will introduce you to this vast ocean of lava flows known as Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve.
Stout, chief of interpretation and education at the Craters for 17 years, will offer a presentation titled “People of the Moon” at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, at Ketchum’s Community Library. Stout is the author of the new book, “Craters of the Moon National Monument,” which celebrates a century of Craters history.
Those wishing to see the presentation in person should reserve a seat at https://thecommunitylibrary.libcal.com/event/10696578. The program also will be livestreamed and recorded for later viewing at https://vimeo.com/event/3486554.
A book signing will follow the presentation.
