The executive director of the Wood River Valley affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness is leaving her post to take on a statewide advocacy role.
Brittany Shipley will work to enhance youth mental health initiatives and create systemic changes that will help young people struggling with mental health conditions in her new role. That includes pressing for better resources, support systems and policies at the state and federal level.
She will focus on the implementation of crisis services and the Youth Empowerment System of care, expanding access to mental health services in rural communities and promote early intervention strategies.
"I am deeply grateful for the remarkable journey I've had with NAMI-WRV,” said Shipley. “The experiences and relationships I've built here will forever hold a special place in my heart. I am excited to step into this new role and continue my passion for creating meaningful systemic change.”
